After flying into San Antonio, I picked up my rental car and headed straight to 
Uvalde. It is a nice drive to Uvale. There is no major highway, it is a county 
road that runs from San Antonio. When I reached Uvalde I went to the museum for 
Vice President Garner. The museum is his former home. When I was there the 
upstairs was closed because they were working on it. After his wife passed away 
he had a smaller house built behind the main house. I believe it was torn down 
in the mid 1980's. 
To reach the cemetery he is buried in, is some what 
simple. It is located on the out side of town on highway 90. The cemetery is on 
the outskirts of Uvalde. Depending on which way you are going on 90 will help 
you get to the cemetery. There are two separate areas for the Uvalde cemetery. If you are going West the cemetery will be on the left hand side, if you are 
going east it will be on the right hand side. They have signs pointing the way to 
the cemetery and when you enter the cemetery the have signs to his grave. His grave is marked 
with a flag pole and there is a power tower behind the fence of the 
cemetery.
